Privacy Policy

Effective October 15, 2026. Applies to the Wheelbarrow website at https://wheelbarrowtools.com and the tools bought there.

The short version. Your report files are opened in your browser, not uploaded. To design and preview your tool, the text of the report tables is sent to our servers, used for that request and not stored by us; a short sample of it goes to our processing provider, which deletes it within 30 days. We keep your saved design and, if you buy, your email address so you can download your tool again. We don't use cookies, analytics or ads, and we don't sell or share personal information for advertising. You can ask us to see or delete your information at any time.

1. Who we are

Please leave out sensitive information. Don't add reports that contain health information, government ID numbers, payment card or bank account numbers, passwords, or information about children. You're responsible for having the right to share the reports you add, including any personal information about other people in them.

We collect only what we need for these purposes. We don't ask for your name, phone number or an account. We don't sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it for profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects.

3. Cookies and storage on your device

We don't use cookies, analytics, tracking pixels or advertising tools, and no third party tracks you on our site. Our fonts are served from our own server. Because we don't track you across websites, our site works the same whether or not your browser sends a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal.

When you go to checkout, your browser keeps a copy of the files you added in its own storage (IndexedDB) on your device, so your preview can be shown again when you come back from Stripe. This copy never leaves your device. You can delete it by clearing your browser's site data. The tool you buy runs entirely on your computer and doesn't send anything to us.

4. Who we share information with

We share information only with service providers that help us run Wheelbarrow, under contracts that let them use it only to provide their services to us:

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or as part of a sale or reorganization of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply.

5. Where your information is processed

Our servers and providers are in the United States. If you are outside the United States, including in Canada or Quebec, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States, where it may be accessible to courts, law enforcement and national security authorities under U.S. law. Before transferring information outside Quebec, we assess whether it will be adequately protected, and we require our providers to protect it.

6. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

How to ask. Email support@wheelbarrowtools.com with "Privacy request" in the subject. To protect you, we'll confirm your identity by matching the email address used for your purchase or by asking for details only you would know. An authorized agent may act for you with your written permission. We'll answer within 30 days in Canada and within 45 days in the United States, and tell you if we need more time where the law allows it. There is no charge.

Appeals. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer with "Appeal" in the subject. We'll respond within the time required by your state's law. If you're not satisfied, you can contact your state attorney general.

Complaints in Canada. You can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca), or in Quebec the Commission d'accès à l'information (cai.gouv.qc.ca). In Alberta and British Columbia you can contact the provincial privacy commissioner.

7. More for California residents

In the past 12 months we have collected these categories of personal information, for the purposes and from the sources in section 2: identifiers (email address, IP address); commercial information (records of your purchase); internet or network activity (server logs); and any personal information contained in the report content you choose to add, which we process only to provide the service and don't store. We disclose these categories only to the service providers in section 4. We have not sold or shared personal information, and we don't knowingly sell or share the information of anyone under 16. We don't use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would give you a right to limit it. Under California's "Shine the Light" law, we don't share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing.

8. Children

Wheelbarrow is a business tool for adults (18 and over) and is not directed to children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, from anyone under 16 where that age applies, or from minors under 14 in Quebec. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

9. Security

We protect information with encrypted connections (HTTPS), limited access to our servers, and by not storing report content or card details at all. No system is perfectly secure. If a security incident affects your personal information and creates a risk of harm, we'll notify you and the authorities as the law requires, and we keep a record of incidents.

10. How we manage personal information

11. Automated processing

Your tool is designed automatically from your description and report text. This processing builds software for you. It doesn't make decisions about you or anyone in your reports.

12. Changes to this policy

We'll post any changes on this page and update the effective date. If a change materially affects how we use information we already have, we'll tell you before it applies, for example by email if you've bought a tool.
